South Carolina-Georgia Prediction

The South Carolina Gamecocks had momentum. Now they don’t. Their non-SEC detour to Oklahoma State threw them off balance, and they couldn’t restore equilibrium against Tennessee. The Gamecocks have very little margin for error in February. They can’t merely pick off an occasional win. They have to reel off several consecutive wins to entertain realistic NCAA Tournament hopes. Visiting Georgia gives them a chance for a good restart. Georgia could not follow up its win over Texas with a strong SEC showing against Arkansas. The Dawgs can be dangerous but have never shown that they can be relied upon to play well when asked to. South Carolina’s strong SEC start shows that the Gamecocks can play well for multiple weeks at a time. They might have hit a slump, but they are a better bet to bounce back in this game. South Carolina 70, Georgia 65 (Matt Zemek).

This game tips off at Noon CT (1:00 PM ET). TV: SEC NETWORK.
