Missouri-Mississippi State Prediction

The Mississippi State Bulldogs appear to be on their way to the NCAA Tournament. Ben Howland was given time to reshape this program, and patience from the school has paid off this season. MSU hasn’t been able to defeat the very best teams in the SEC, but it has improved on the road in recent weeks and evolved on defense. Mississippi State is now playing for seeding instead of NCAA Tournament selection. This game against Missouri won’t improve the Bulldogs’ seeding, but a loss to a bottom-tier SEC opponent would cost them one seed line, possibly two. Missouri has played hard for Cuonzo Martin throughout a season marred by the injury to Jontay Porter in early autumn. Mizzou was never going to have the horses needed to compete in the SEC once that happened. The Tigers will give it their best, but they will fall short again. Mississippi State 74, Missouri 62.
