LSU-Arkansas Prediction

The hour grows late early in the season for the Arkansas Razorbacks. They have already lost one SEC home game, and they lost it to a Florida team which was not playing well. Arkansas scored only 38 points in the first 35 minutes before nearly stealing the game – it had a chance to tie in the final seconds and missed a four-foot leaner before Florida sealed a narrow win. Now comes another home game against an SEC opponent which is not clearly an elite team. LSU could become formidable, but the jury is still out on the Tigers under young coach Will Wade. If Arkansas drops two home games in the first two weeks of January, the road-heavy portion of the SEC slate could bury the Hogs. Are they ready, though? They aren’t playing well enough to get the benefit of the doubt. LSU 69, Arkansas 67. (Matt Zemek)
