Florida-Vanderbilt Prediction
Is this the time for Vanderbilt to win an SEC game in 2019? If it is, it would deal Florida and coach Mike White a crushing blow after the Gators worked so hard to improve their NCAA Tournament resume. Florida will be in very good shape for an NCAA bid as long as it avoids bad losses. There could be no worse loss than Vanderbilt, which sank to the bottom of the conference in early January and has stayed there. “Anchor Down” doesn’t sound very good under these circumstances. Here’s the thing about this game: Bryce Drew hasn’t lost to Mike White in Memorial Gym. He is also 4-2 against White in SEC competition. VU nearly beat Florida in Gainesville earlier this season. The Commodores really do have a chance because of their tenacious defense and because of Florida’s unreliable perimeter shooting… but it really doesn’t make sense to trust Vanderbilt this year. Florida 60, Vanderbilt 57. (Matt Zemek)
