Auburn-Ole Miss Prediction

Not much was expected from Ole Miss basketball this season, but Kermit Davis showed this past weekend that he can get the most out of his roster. A win in Memorial Gym against Vanderbilt gave the Rebels an excellent start to the SEC season. They will try to carry their momentum into this home game against Auburn. The Tigers have been solid but hardly spectacular to this point in the season. The book on Auburn is clear: Get the Tigers into a slowdown halfcourt game and force their guards to make a lot of decisions with the ball. Stopping dribble penetration and dragging Auburn into a game with fewer possessions really shrinks the margins for the Tigers. Ole Miss figures to do this, but the talent disparity between the two teams might be too much for the Rebels to overcome. It is Auburn’s game to lose. Auburn 69, Ole Miss 64. (Matt Zemek)

This game tips off at 6:00 PM CT (7:00 PM ET). TV: ESPN2.
