Auburn-LSU Prediction

The LSU Tigers didn’t flinch. They responded to their first loss of the SEC season by storming back from an eight-point halftime deficit on the road to beat Mississippi State in overtime. LSU is 3-0 in overtime games, a sign of how this team embraces challenges instead of shrinking in the face of them as the Johnny Jones teams so often did. LSU takes its winning ways into a huge Saturday game with Auburn. The Tigers have put together an impressive series of games to move to 5-4 in the SEC at the midpoint of the league’s 18-game regular season, but those games were at home, and only one of them (Alabama) came against a likely NCAA Tournament team. Florida is on the bubble. Auburn has to show it can beat a good team on the road, so LSU is the choice. Auburn doesn’t yet deserve the benefit of the doubt. LSU 76, Auburn 73. (Matt Zemek)

This game tips off at 1:00 PM CT (2:00 PM ET). TV: ESPN2.
