Alabama-Auburn Prediction
The Auburn Tigers played a mediocre first half against Missouri on Wednesday night, and then in the second half, they played like an angry team which knows it has underachieved this season. Will that be the half which wakes this team up and gets Bruce Pearl to find finer form in February? Auburn has been dogged by bad shot selection and highly inconsistent post play this season. Alabama has rugged veteran post players who can make this matchup difficult. The Crimson Tide beat Kentucky, nearly beat Tennessee, and have outclassed Ole Miss and Mississippi State at home. They’re good, but they also don’t win a lot on the road. This is a meeting of two teams with significant flaws. It should be razor-close, but Alabama’s road woes might be the deciding factor on Saturday night. Auburn 71, Alabama 70. (Matt Zemek)
