Scouting Report
Vanderbilt (9-16, 1-11 SEC): Vandy’s Aaron Nesmith (23 ppg) is the Commodore’s and SEC’s leading scorer, however, he is out for the season with an injury. In his absence Saben Lee (17.0 ppg) has taken over that role. Freshman forward Dylan Disu leads Vandy in rebounding 5.8 rpg. For the season Vandy is shooting 43.3% from the field, 33.0% from 3-point range and 68.2% from the free throw line. Vandy is eighth in the SEC in scoring averaging 72.3 points a game. The Commodores are 12th in the SEC in scoring defense allowing 74.3 point per contest. Vandy is dead last in field goal percentage defense (46.5%) and also last in 3-point shooting defense (35.1%).
Tennessee (14-11, 6-6 SEC): Jordan Bowden leads the Vols in scoring at 13.2 points per contest. John Fulkerson is the Vols’ second leading scorer for the season averaging 12.3 points per game. Fulkerson also leads the Vols in rebounding pulling down 6.0 boards a game. Tennessee is currently No. 1 in the SEC in scoring defense (62.1 ppg). A big reason for that is that the Vols are very stingy at allowing opponents to make field goals (39.1%, No. 3 SEC). For the season, the Vols are hitting 42.8% of their field goals, 30.6% of 3-point shots and 75.4% of free throws.
