Ole Miss-Arkansas Series Prediction

Ole Miss (6-12) at Arkansas (12-6)
Ole Miss has had Arkansas’ number in this series, winning four of the last five and seven of the last nine. Arkansas did win last year in Oxford and is seeking its first home series win over the Rebels since 2015. It’s been a tightly contested series over the last 29 seasons with Arkansas holding a 15-14 series lead and a 44-43 lead in regular season games played. The series is even at 7-7 in Fayetteville. Arkansas hasn’t won back-to-back series over Ole Miss since 2010-11. The Rebels last swept the Hogs in 2016 in Oxford and 2009 in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks posted their last sweep in 2002 in Oxford and last swept in Fayetteville in 1999.

Ole Miss has dropped its last three SEC series and is 1-8 through three conference home series to sit at 6-12 in the standings. The Rebels haven’t been 6-12 since 1998 and it’s only the fourth time since then that they have been below .500 after six weeks of conference play (1998, 2000, 2015, 2022). Ole Miss does have a pair of SEC road series wins this season over Auburn and Kentucky. The Rebels are seeking to win three SEC road series for the first time since 2014 when it went 3-2.

Arkansas finds itself in a familiar position, either being tied for first or holding down second place in the overall SEC standings after six weeks of conference play each of the last five seasons. For the fourth time in the last five seasons, Arkansas holds a 12-6 mark or better. The Razorbacks return home where they have built an 11-series SEC home winning streak. In fact, they have only lost one home series the last four seasons, posting a 17-1 SEC home series record. Arkansas has swept LSU and Kentucky this season at Baum Stadium and owns an 8-1 record in conference home games. (Source: SEC)

This is one that won’t be hard to predict. Ole Miss, after being picked by some to contend for or even win the national title, has been a train wreck. Ole Miss could steal a win but I doubt it. Arkansas, while nowhere near Tennessees’s prowess, is locked in as the league’s No. 2 team. They don’t lose often at home.

Arkansas 3 wins, Ole Miss 0 wins
