Missouri-LSU Series Prediction

LSU leads this series 4-1, but Missouri won the last series in Columbia in 2019. The Tigers swept the first three series from 2013-16 and has a 12-3 edge in regular-season games played. LSU won both series played in Baton Rouge.

Missouri won its 2nd SEC series by defeating Kentucky last weekend to improve to 5-4 at home. The Tigers now turn their attention to the road where they look to snap an 0-6 start after being swept by Vanderbilt and Tennessee. They are 3-13 in their last 16 conference road series.

LSU sits below .500 in the SEC standings at the midway point for the second straight season. That hasn’t happened since a four-year span between 2005-08. The Tigers seemed to have momentum following a 3-0 series win at State, only to see it evaporate quickly after getting swept at Arkansas the next week. LSU is 1-6 in its last seven SEC home series after posting a 13-2 mark between 2017-19. (Source: SEC).

If this game were being played in Columbia I might pick Mizzou, but playing in Baton Rouge I think LSU gets a little edge. That said, LSU has struggled at home but Mizzou has struggled big time on the road. Missouri is at the bottom of the SEC but they are still a dangerous team.

LSU 2 wins, Missouri 1 win
