NOTE: THIS SERIES HAS BEEN CANCELLED due to the pandemic. Tennessee travels to South Carolina for a 3-game, Friday-Sunday SEC baseball series. 14Powers.com SEC Baseball previews the series and predicts the series winner.
Both of these teams have 100ish RPIs. Tennessee is second in the SEC in both batting and pitching. South Carolina is middle of the pack in both ERA and hitting. Tennessee’s best win so far was over top 5 Texas Tech in Texas. South Carolina has a win over No. 25 Clemson but lost a series 2-1 to Clemson in Columbia. Tennessee has 3 wins over teams with winning records and South Carolina 2 wins. Players to watch include Vol pitcher Jackson Leath who has 29 strikeouts in 18.2 innings. Sophomore outfielder Brady Allen is hitting .327 with three home runs to lead the Gamecocks. At this point Tennessee is probably the favorite playing in Knoxville. They look a little better than the Gamecocks and are well coached. Tennessee should win this series 2-1.
