VU baseball catcher misses football, enters the portal

Post by BrentVU »

OK, this is interesting... Cade Law, the VU baseball catcher from CPA has decided (in midseason) he really misses football and is entering the NCAA football transfer portal (as a 6-2 225 "Athlete") with four years left to play. Most locals probably remember him: he passed for a school-record 2,800 yards and record 35 touchdowns at CPA. He was in the same class as Langston Patterson, a freshman on last year's VU team, and threw passes at CPA to WR London Humphreys, who will join the VU roster in the fall.

Also, his younger brother Crews Law is a hot prospect in the Midstate for 2024. He plays LB and has offers from VU, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Missouri, Michigan State, and many others.

Cade was committed to Vanderbilt baseball very early on, so I'm not sure how much consideration Vandy football gave him; but they certainly know all about him. He was definitely a dual-threat QB with a good size/speed combo, but I'm not sure whether he would project as a QB in Vandy's system.

Cade and Crews Law have both committed today to North Carolina. It's a double loss for Vanderbilt, as Tim Corbin also loses a reserve catcher.
