Ohio halts betting on Alabama baseball after detecting suspicious activity

Post by AuricGoldfinger »

Bama is this weekend's opponent.

Ohio gambling regulators on Monday instructed the state's licensed sportsbooks to halt betting on college baseball games involving Alabama after suspicious wagering activity was detected on the Crimson Tide's game against top-ranked LSU on Friday.

Apparently, info got out that their starting pitcher had been scratched.....if the public knew before the gambling houses knew, is that really a problem?

Here's a little more detail, looking specifically at the LSU side of the event: https://www.nola.com/sports/betting/lou ... 39cf0.html

One rumor is that someone inside the Alabama program alerted friends and family after the pitcher was scratched but before it was announced to the public, resulting in the unusually large bets detailed in the story linked above.
