But where have the Commodores been hiding unheralded sophomore Walter Taylor?

Out of Vandy’s quarterbacks, Taylor had the best spring game. He directed the day’s first TD drive and then threw a gorgeous deep ball to Wilson Long for a 50-yard touchdown to end the first half.

Taylor is 6-6 and 235 pounds with mobility and a strong arm. The ball jumps out of his hand. If the consistency comes along, he’s got talent that carries some big-time upside.

Well, they haven't been "hiding" him anywhere. He wasn't going to play in 2022 as a raw freshman behind Mike Wright, Ken Seals, and A.J. Swann (who had gotten a spring practice under his belt last year). Yes, you look at him and he's got obvious physical talents: he's got a big frame, a big arm, and is athletic enough to take off and run. So yes, he's got a tremendous upside. But I would say his performance Saturday was a mixed bag, as it was pretty much with the other three QBs. It will probably take some time before he's doing the little things-- seeing the field, working through progressions, etc.-- well enough to earn playing time.

Interesting... I did have to go look up #12 on the roster after all the social media posts. It seems most of the time Vandy's social media teams post videos he is the QB being featured.
