UAB won easily today over Morehead State that bounced Clemson. The blazers won 77-59 and have a record of 27-9. They should/will bring lots of fans the short distance to Nashville. We will need lots if fans to beat thus very good and hungry team to beat an SEC opponent. They beat both Georgia and SC by 14 so they aren't afraid of SEC.

Walker is one of the best guards in the nation. He had 31 vs Georgia. Buffen, the Ole Miss transfer had 25 vs South Carolina. Brewer, a 6-7 senior forward had 25 in the win over Morehead.

Yes, they are really good. A win in this game is far from guaranteed.

And isn't it sad that Vanderbilt didn't give its fans a chance to buy tickets during the 24 hours before we knew who the other team was?

I say this because vucommodores.com is still proclaiming Round 2 tickets, but Round 3 is next.

Last I heard, the game is Wednesday but the time is not decided yet.

Game time is 6 pm: assume that is central.

Funny that they don't email people who bought single game basketball tickets 3 times in the last 3 weeks.

Bill, appreciate your fandom - channel your frustration toward UAB - we need your full support.

UAB will be a tough matchup, they have very good guards and really like to play up tempo & run. They also have a big man that will get after it on the boards, we will need to bring our A game which at this point is kinda a given every night. UAB also has a player with one of the best names in the NCAA…Tony Tony from Huntsville, AL.

The line has shifted from -1.5 in our favor to -1 in UAB's favor. This is an interesting matchup, some high level guard play should be on display from both sides tonight.

They are experienced and avoided injuries meaning extraordinary depth for this time of year. Will take a supreme effort of our smaller group. If it comes down to coaching we win, but if it is determined by number of talented players we are in trouble. Hoping for a GOOD crowd.

Also of note--UAB has three transfers who have played at Memorial Gym while at other schools. And Andy Kennedy, of course, has coached multiple games there while at Ole Miss and has a winning record in the Gym.
