Vandy coaches were disappointed when target Randon Fontenette, a hard-hitting 6-1, 190 safety for Freeport-Brazosport (Texas) HS, committed to Utah in the summer; but he later de-committed and threw open his recruiting. He has already made an official visit to Vandy (in June), but he now has offers from national powers TCU and USC. Obviously, he still remains a target; Vandy sent out the big guns to Texas for a home visit last night. This is definitely one to keep an eye on for the #GoldStandard23 class.

Four coaches are a LOT to send on a home visit.

P.S. It appears that Vanderbilt has moved Anchors coach Jimmy Thompson into the slot for recruiting that was held by suspended DBs coach Dan Jackson. We'll see whether that sticks or not, but meanwhile, Lea hasn't let any grass grow under his feet in filling that slot for recruiting.
