Jaylen Mahoney to return for an extra year
Big news. Mahoney was one of the few bright spots in the VU secondary.

YES!!!! He improved immensely as this season wore on. With a good off-season, he could potentially work his way into getting drafted next year. Plus we could always use leadership!

Other non-5th year seniors of note are Daveion Davis, Kane Patterson, Nate Clifton, Christian James, Julian Hernandez, and Junior Uzebu. I could see Davis coming back being as he essentially missed the entire year.
Orji and Ray Davis are listed as Seniors, but I would have to think there is draft potential for those two.
Other seniors who might be nice to have come back are Justin Ball, Cooper Lutz, and Justin Harris
Those who probably don't factor in to playing time and are likely to move on would be Jared Wheatley, Devin Boddie, Joel DeCoursey, and maybe Bapst.

Great news! I would say until we get to our scholarship limit, we would welcome most everyone back from a depth standpoint. Leadership is a great commodity!

This is great news. Better than any recruit we could sign.

Re: Jaylen Mahoney to return for an extra year
I especially respect Mahoney because new coordinator Nick Howell asked him to move in the offseason from corner to nickel/safety. I don't think he was too happy about that at first, but he accepted the role change and always balled out.
If you saw an opposing ball carrier running free in space and somebody closed and made a solid, textbook, open-field tackle, you didn't even have to look at the number to know who it was. It was Mahoney. In my book, he was the defense's MVP along with Anfernee Orji.
