Saturday was the third straight game that sophomore C.J. Taylor has started at safety in place of Max Worship, and Taylor didn't disappoint.
In the first quarter alone he had an authoritative sack of Will Levis, a tackle for loss, and an athletic leaping pass breakup in the end zone that saved a touchdown. He ended up being the team's leading tackler with six, and to cap it off he intercepted Kentucky's Hail Mary pass on the final play.
The defense has played a lot better since the Missouri game (the one in which Taylor hurdled a defender for a strip-score), and that was the first one in which Coach Howell made the change. Taylor is a gamer.

That's not to rip on Worship, who has been a great four-year player for the Commodores and is still getting plenty of playing time. But Taylor's play is just jumping off the film.

Agreed, Brent. He's an unbelievable player.
Against KY, he had a(nother) sack, INT, TD saving tip and is just a chaos-creator.

Coach Howell has to love this photo... eight hats to the football...
And look who's in the center of it: C.J. Taylor, Jaylen Mahoney, and Devin Lee, great hyenas all.
