…but turned out a disaster. These were dark days reminiscent of the Jack Green era in the ‘60s.

But not a total disaster. Any Vandy coach that can beat UT (in Knoxville!) will always have a special place in my heart.

7-4 his first year. Down hill from there.I

The main thing I remember is that Bill Parcells, our DC, wanted the job but the administration wanted someone with head coaching experience.

Just think, we could have had Parcells as football coach and Coach K as basketball coach, but our administration was full of idiots.

Coach Pancoast is alive and kickin’. He turned 90 back in July. Still lives here in Nashville.

Disagree, Jack Green was an excellent coach who tried to turn around a horrible program! I think his Dores beat a highly rated Bear Bryant Alabama team (but not sure, memories fade) and I think his players were taking real courses, not some of the junk offered today!

Were some awful decisions! I think Pancoast might of been successful but shot himself in the foot, so to speak!
