Looks like a guy with nice height and athletic chops.
Will probably need some mass to bang in the SEC but he's not a bean pole.
Nice offer list too.
Welcome JQ!

Re: New commitment: F JaQualon Roberts
He could actually start as a true freshman at the high D-1 level. :o

Re: New commitment: F JaQualon Roberts
it's interesting that jq said he will continue his "academic and athletic career" at vu. stating it that way, with academics before hoops, may indicate why vandy got his nod and could bode well for long term commitment from him.

??? Why would my head explode? Just because I don't think our entire freshman class is destined for the NBA? You were gone for a while - I guess you didn't readjust your values and probably are going to have problems keeping up again. Oh well.MrMemorial wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 9:55 pmHe could actually start as a true freshman at the high D-1 level. :o

“Basketball is going to stop one day….”
So true. With NIL, conference realignment and unlimited transfers, college basketball is going to stop one day. It may be before JQ finishes at Vanderbilt.

Re: New commitment: F JaQualon Roberts
Boy, JaQualon's ratings and measurements are pretty widely varied. I've seen him rated as three-star (Rivals, 247) to four-star (Verbalcommits and ESPN) and listed from 6-6 195 to 6'8 205. I wonder how many of these services have scouted him recently?AuricGoldfinger wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 2:52 pm He's a 6-6 195 lb. rising senior from Bloomington, IN. Either way, though, he looks like a really talented player who already has a lot of skill and I love his commitment to education first. Plus he also commented that playing for someone who played his position for 18 years in the NBA was a big factor. So it looks like he's here to learn in every way.

A couple of good articles, hopefully he ends up as a wing forward with really good length. Good to see CJS go after a player like this and land him!
