tonight
Question: who is available to pitch today for us and for OSU. Any overnight tidbits of info?
Win or lose today, hats off to the kids and the coaches...showing quite a bit of intestinal fortitude, as we used to say, in the great northwest.

Re: tonight
I would think all pitchers would be avaiable, at least for a couple of innings, except the ones who started the previous four games. Pretty sure even Schultz could pitch an inning or two, if necessary. Definitely Little, too.
Re: tonight
All things considering we are in a pretty good spot. We've gotten long starts in all four games thankfully. As others have said would expect to see Reilly and Cunningham as well as Little who kept his pitch count low on friday.
As far as Oregon St, their best pitcher by statistics is some guy named Ben Ferrer. Kinda weird they don't start him nor does he have many saves. Not entirely sure how they use him. 57 innings in just 22 games so maybe long relief. Either way looks like he threw 30 pitches on Friday so I imagine we'll see him if game is tight. They also havent thrown two guys with ERAs under 4. Jaren Hunter who has 10 starts (maybe midweek guy?) and Reid Sebby. Having played one fewer game obviously Oregon St is in a better situation than us. All 3 of those guys I mentioned have a better ERA than Kmatz who they started against us last night. Hopefully our bats can keep it going.

Re: tonight
I think OSU might start Ben Ferrer. He pitched just 1.2 innings on Friday against NMSU. He has a 1.89 ERA but has started just once. He has reached 5 innings pitched on at least 3 occasions. I'm pretty sure we'll see a lot of this guy regardless.

Re: tonight
We have several guys who could go an inning or so. Hansen threw 30 pitches Saturday. Little 33 on Friday. Berkwich threw 23 pitches. They should be available for an inning or two. These are the guys who could go:
Donnie Evans
Grayson Moore
Reilly (probable starter)
Cunningham
Jack Anderson
Grayson Moore
Other than Reilly, not sure I'd want any one to go over an inning or so, but all are quality arms.

Re: tonight
I would start Cunningham; go to Reilly at the VERY first sign of trouble or maybe for second time through their lineup anyway.
Then, if that combo could get us through 6-7, I would try to finish with Little.

Always hopeful; rarely optimistic.

Re: tonight
I think our pitching will be fine if Corbs uses it with short leashes as he has been doing lately. It is keeping our hitting going in clutch time that will decide the game. We have done well in that past 3 games.

Re: tonight
I've long heard about a "bullpen" day for starting pitchers -- evidently a day a pitcher seriously throws a bit between starts. If TODAY would be Holton's "bullpen" day, would he be available for an inning or at least to throw to a lefty in a key situation? I'd think Holton would be available in a key/specific spot.

Not often that I have the opportunity to quote Bible verses here , but I think this one fits well related to your comment:
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34)

As long we don't get Herpes.
Opponents are hitting .185 against him. Much better numbers than Kmart.
