I believe he has only one year of eligibility (a COVID year) as he has already played four.

According to this, Cecil had offers from Virginia Tech and Syracuse, and interest from Auburn, in addition to Vanderbilt. Vandy must have done a good sales job on his visit (which this staff typically does).
