Would've been on the hot seat next year in Gainesville. I'll be curious to see how he's accepted by the GA basketball alumni base that wanted one of the Hayes brothers that played there.

This could be a similar situation to Josh Pastner at Memphis. He had completely worn out his welcome at Memphis. By taking the Georgia Tech job, Pastner was able to extend his career with 6 mediocre seasons at Tech. UGA is a worse job than Fla. So that pretty much tells you he didn’t feel like he would keep the UF job long.

FWIW, which isn't much, Stack's name was actually raised on the Gator's 247 board (this stuck out on a board where the general consensus is either Scott Drew or Sean Miller

I’ve weirdly watched a good amount of Vandy basketball this year and I’ve been impressed with their improvement. If healthy, they would’ve been a comfortable tournament team IMO.
His half-court sets are really sound, runs guard-centric game plan, and plays entertaining basketball. Also, a good recruiter considering being at Vanderbilt.
Definitely think he’ll get a better job soon, if not this offseason.
