Re: Robbins
He re-injured the foot about 8 weeks ago. I've read that recovery time is 6 to 10 weeks. I am hopeful we'll see him back for the start of SEC play if not shortly thereafter.
Re: Robbins
Yeah he’s out of the boot now so i’m hopeful that this long break between games gives him time to get back on the court and be ready for either the Arkansas game on the 4th or the South Carolina game on the 8th.

Re: Robbins
hope springs eternal, no? if lr is able to be a significant contributor this season, it will be a very welcome surprise, but those danged foot issues are too often recurrent/disabling. maybe.....

Re: Robbins
I have a feeling this injury will keep him out much longer. I see this as an ongoing problem. Hope I am wrong and he does get to play. How much who knows. Is it a stress fracture? I may have missed some posts if it has been discussed.

Re: Robbins
'twas originally stated to be a "stress reaction", which is code for "on the verge of stress fracture". i'm not sure if it actually progressed to true fracture or not. nevertheless, his playing effectively (or at all) this season could be pie in the sky. improved qmb and committee may be the sum of our post presence in conference play...just as it has been so far.

Re: Robbins
This has been my fear/conjecture since they first announced he had the stress reaction and I researched what that meant, exactly. Possible upside would be maybe he sticks around next year depending on the status of his graduate program???docdore wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 11:25 am 'twas originally stated to be a "stress reaction", which is code for "on the verge of stress fracture". i'm not sure if it actually progressed to true fracture or not. nevertheless, his playing effectively (or at all) this season could be pie in the sky. improved qmb and committee may be the sum of our post presence in conference play...just as it has been so far.
Re: Robbins
Even if he does play this year, he could come back because of the Covid year and the graduate program wouldn’t be an issue:UltimateVUFan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 11:46 amThis has been my fear/conjecture since they first announced he had the stress reaction and I researched what that meant, exactly. Intended for flexibility, the HDS program can be completed in two, three, or four semesters.

And unremarkable minutes they were, EXCEPT FOR
the 3/4 court basket and the handful of a Gator fan's popcorn as he left the court --- PRICELESS.
Worth every penny of the 11 years of scholarship money. A true Vandy classic moment.

Re: Robbins
It was one of VU's better memories, as that 3-point, first-half-ending basket was the difference in a Vandy 2-point road win over Florida (in what, to this date, was VU's last winning season in men's basketball).

Bring back Peyton Willis. That guy must love going to school. Isn't he in his 7th year of college ball?UltimateVUFan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 4:25 pmNah, man…Henderson was at VU for, like, at least 11 years!

I think the Henderson Heave from the Heavens was in 2016, not 2017. Vandy won comfortably in Gainesville that season.nyyankeeDore wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 10:58 amIt was one of VU's better memories, as that 3-point, first-half-ending basket was the difference in a Vandy 2-point road win over Florida (in what, to this date, was VU's last winning season in men's basketball).

You are correct - CKS' last season. It was a comfortable win - it is also notable that UF had a layup that was blocked at the last second by MFD of all players which immediately preceded the Hendo heave. UF had two shocking disappointments in about 3 seconds.
