Postseason CFB awards

Post by BrentVU »

The AP most valuable offensive and defensive players in the SEC (which are part of my annual preseason prediction contest) went to:
Offense: Bryce Young, Alabama
Defense: Will Anderson, Alabama

Kind of surprised the Defense award went to Anderson, after Jordan Davis of Georgia was the talk all season (and even got some Heisman mention). Davis won the Outland Trophy and the Chuck Bednarik (best overall defensive player) last night. The AP is another case of to the victor go the spoils.

And it seems unlikely to me that anyone besides Bryce Young can win the Heisman; he won the Maxwell and the Davey O'Brien last night. We'll find out Saturday.

I'll have the results of the preseason prediction contest up next week after all the results are in.
