More Gruden emails have been found in the investigation of the owner of the Washington football team. These are anti-gay. Gruden has told his staff he is resigning (get out of town before the posse arrives).

In my view he is now unemployable. He will never work again. No one would hire him.

The lesson - keep your mouth shut, but especially keep all postings inoffensive to anyone.

I'm sure I have written things online or in emails that - out of context - would be offensive, or could be interpreted to make me look like a wholly reprehensible and irredeemably awful person. But if you are going to be a public figure, as Gruden already was at that time, it is so stupid to say things that like the reference to one player's lips that are just racist caricatures out of the 1920's. Or the "f" word to denigrate homosexuals, or to denigrate someone by implying he's a homosexual. To me these things from Gruden are not mild slip-ups or locker room talk, they're signs that the guy is a complete a-hole, and a stupid one at that. I don't feel bad for him. He got away with being this much of a jackass for a long time, and is a multi-multi-millionaire. I'll save my pity for others.
