More Gruden emails have been found in the investigation of the owner of the Washington football team. These are anti-gay. Gruden has told his staff he is resigning (get out of town before the posse arrives).

In my view he is now unemployable. He will never work again. No one would hire him.

The lesson - keep your mouth shut, but especially keep all postings inoffensive to anyone.

Miami, Louisville, any Group of Five team hoping to move up in class.

Any team that previously hired Lane Kiffin: Tennessee, USC, Ole Miss and ... even the Raiders.

Any university that has created a new department of Diversity and Inclusivity. The admin can prove its dedication to D/I by Including those with Diverse opinions.

Oh, the irony....

I'm sure I have written things online or in emails that - out of context - would be offensive, or could be interpreted to make me look like a wholly reprehensible and irredeemably awful person. But if you are going to be a public figure, as Gruden already was at that time, it is so stupid to say things that like the reference to one player's lips that are just racist caricatures out of the 1920's. Or the "f" word to denigrate homosexuals, or to denigrate someone by implying he's a homosexual. To me these things from Gruden are not mild slip-ups or locker room talk, they're signs that the guy is a complete a-hole, and a stupid one at that. I don't feel bad for him. He got away with being this much of a jackass for a long time, and is a multi-multi-millionaire. I'll save my pity for others.

I think lesson number one here is don't say racist things and don't be a homophobe.

If you hate Gruden and people like him, then you're just a different flavor of the same dumpster fire. Don't give in to that dark path.
