Predict the First Series!

A few years ago, we started trying to predict the first Offensive play of the game for VU.

I like to predict the result of the first Offensive Series.

Here are your options, from least-desirable to most desirable:

1. Turnover
2. 3 and out
3. One or more first downs, stalled drive, punt
4. Field Goal Attempt - miss
5. Red Zone Penetration, come up empty
6. Field Goal Attempt - success
7. Touchdown

Random, but if I could ever call the first play of a game it'd be a play action bomb. Feel like coaches always ease players into games with runs and short passes. I'd try to catch the defense looking for something in front of them and get it deep.

Really a crap shoot without having any history on which to base a guess. I'd say #3, a few first downs and punt, is the most likely. But it's ETSU, so #7 is not out of the question.

Would love to see us start with a first play triple reverse with a pass, or something wide open and crazy like that - just to show things are very different.

I say a 4 (Missed FG) but honestly I'll be content with anything other than a 2. I have learned the first series really isn't that important in the scheme of things unless disastrous like a pick 6.

Remember when Bobby Johnson was the coach and someone would do the "predict the first offensive play" thread, only you weren't allowed to pick a quarterback draw because that was too easy?

3rd and 7 much easier on a CBJ call. Incomplete pass on a 3 yd deep pattern
