The media have spoken. No Vanderbilt players selected for any of the first-third offense, defense, and specialists. This gives new meaning to arguably Lea's most profound statement at Hoover: "we are not going to be defined by what those outside the program say." It has been a while since we had not a single player named on a pre-season all conference team.

Let’s hope the same can’t be said at the end of the season when the merit based awards are given out.
The offense is going to score enough points to win some games this year. The defense will need to take advantage of another team’s off day.

Can't help but think this also says something about recruiting and player development under the former staff. And I liked CDM.

Precisely. I'm not sure that the cupboard has ever been left this bare. At Vanderbilt.

This is really a challenge for Lea: good opportunity to develop talent and obviously recruit better.
