Re: LSU #2
Whew, that was exciting. I think that was my favorite Jack Leiter inning of the year. Struggled with command, clearly had CJ confused a few times, but found a way to get thru it. That final strike 3 was the first time he went low with the fastball the entire inning. That was terrific. Now to see if he finds his groove from this point forward.

Re: LSU #2
Very long 1st inning finally over. No score. Hill, the Tiger's heralded starter has left the game.

Man, that is unfortunate for Hill, the LSU ace. I wonder what he injured? Certainly not obvious. Ben McDonald think it may be an elbow injury, he apparently has a history of elbow problems. Injuries are always a part of sports, but that one's a gut wrencher for LSU.
Re: LSU #2
Do you think Davis & Gonzo knew they needed to take an extra base with Bradfield behind them on that dying duck? Bradfield has to be the most exciting Dore since who, Tony Kemp?

It finally hit me who the current LSU pitcher looks like...Kenny Powers from East Bound and Down.

Re: LSU #2
Only bad thing for Leiter is his pitch count. May have to pull him after five, at least after six. Looks like LSU players are taking a lot of pitches, presumably to get his pitch count up and get him out. Still, they will have to face Maldonado and Fisher.
Re: LSU #2
Ben Bowden made his Major League debut tonight in relief for Rockies vs Dodgers. BTW, Trevor Bauer pitching a no hitter for LA in that game.

Re: LSU #2
On Bowden:
Lynn native Ben Bowden admitted that he was nervous when Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black called him into his office Tuesday morning before practice. As he walked into the office and sat down, a hundred thoughts raced through his head. He knew he had pitched well during the spring, but he also knew that nothing is guaranteed in this business.
“You never know what’s going to happen,” said Bowden, a Lynn English graduate who was drafted by the Rockies in the second round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft after three seasons at Vanderbilt University. “So I went in there and he was telling me that they had been watching me over the past few years and all the injuries had been tough and things like that. Then he said, ‘you threw 28 pitches (Monday) and we were thinking about giving you a back-to-back, but we’re going to need you against the Dodgers on Thursday (Opening Day).’ I almost fell out of my chair when he said that.
