The only bad thing is that Stanford has rested for an hour and a half. But we are in the FINAL FOUR!
Great play-by-play....thanks!!

I've gotten the semis with the NBC Sports app on my phone. May be available on Golf Channel as well.

It's not looking too good. Two down 2 and two down 3. These guys may just be too tired at this point.

It's all but over now. Stanford has one point, and two other matches are down 4 with 4 or 5 left to play.

Still, it has been a great season, and finishing in the final four is quite the accomplishment.

Dores clawing their way to the finish: Ott down one going to 18 and the other match even at 17.

Do you believe in miracles?

Stanford player nudges the ball during practice stroke. Penalty. Loses #17. Ott has a chance.

Sunday in Hoover. Not this time. Stanford freshman birdies #18.

Vanderbilt players were toting their clubs. Other teams used hand carts. Shouldn't we get a couple strokes off for that?

These kids fought to the end. Ott was sitting there with a good birdie putt on 18 when the Stanford kid drained a long one. Limbaugh didn't move a muscle. That has to be a gut punch to get this close again without the trophy. Now he faces a rebuilding effort without Gordon and Martin who are two of the more decorated kids in school history. I feel terrible for him because he has built a national power, and these things are just incredibly difficult to win.

We actually went down for the last couple of days of the stroke play competition, and I can attest that course is a monster to walk. TV doesn't do justice to the elevation changes. A few years ago a man would be laughed at for using a cart, but I would estimate almost a third of the players were using them at the tournament. It does make sense. I will also mention that we met the coaches and a lot of the player's families, and everyone was great, as you would expect.

I find it interesting that there is no rule one way or another.

I’m old. I could walk 7,550 yards in 4 hours, but not while toting a heavy golf bag.
