This seems like a wide receiver commit... he visited 2-1/2 weeks ago and committed on Wednesday... the 17th commitment for 2024 and the 12th in the month of the (very productive) month of June.

Vandy now has commitments from four wide receivers (if you include Markeis Barrett), so I'd say they may be done at this position group as well...
Markeis Barrett 5-10 160 Knoxville-Webb, TN
Brycen Coleman 6-5 200 Berlin-Stephen-Decatur, MD <-- could end up at TE
Joseph McVay 6-1 180 Earle, AR
Dorian Williams 6-2 190 Cincinnati-Princeton, OH
I think chances are good that Will Sheppard moves on after 2023, but he is the only projected loss right now.

Brent do you have an estimate on how many scholarships are available for 2024? It’s my understanding that the Covid exceptions are ending soon and it looks like we still have a ton of promising prospects according to some of the free portions of recruiting sites. Thanks.

At this rate, we may have our entire class locked down prior to fall camp. This staff is aggressive. We identify who we want and lock in.

As I explained in another thread, it's just impossible to know right now how many scholarships will open up, mainly because of the portal. Last year Vandy lost 12 guys to the portal, and that was the lowest number of any SEC team. You had others who (A) left school with eligibility remaining, (B) opted for the NFL, or (C) medically retired. But what if this year they all decide to stay? With 17 commitments, you might already be over the number of openings for next season.MikenNashville wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 7:08 pm Brent do you have an estimate on how many scholarships are available for 2024? Last season as I recall they handled it this way: they accepted 13 or 14 commitments before the season started... then they didn't accept any new ones during the season. After the season ended and they knew who was transferring out, they accepted 6 more before signing day... then 2 more in the late period, ending up with 22. They also accepted one transfer (Aeneas DiCosmo). When they had a late transfer out (Ja'Dais Richard), they filled the spot with a transfer in (Prince Kollie).
