Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread
Maybe this delay is a good thing for us. We certainly look like crap and it's now or never.

Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread
Well. I did say before the first pitch that I wanted a win against Xavier then a weather delay to force a potential doubleheader tomorrow.
Maybe I’ll get my wish???

Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread
This is a prime example of why it’s so hard to win the championship in college baseball. We lose (possibly) 2 games by 1 run each. Run into a pitcher who has best game of his life, make a crucial error, questionable call by umpire and season over

This is like waiting around for the guilotine (sp?) to drop. Let’s get it over with.

Dark skies and thunder now in Smyrna. Radar shows cells all around Nashville.

Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread
Not sure who is hurt worse by the rain delay?
Xavier’s pitcher may need to be scratched? Or they may use him anyway - but it’s not optimal for him after an hour plus delay.
We had no momentum - but coming back for three outs with your season on the line after an hour delay is no picnic either. I feel like it gives both teams time to think about the pressure. You would hope we would be more used to that kind of pressure …. I assume Reilly is also burned if we do score in the ninth.
I’m guessing coach will tell Maldo to warm up - for psychological purposes.

Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread
We’ll have Schreck, Noland and Maldo when we return. Needed that delay….lefties are hitting .120 against this reliever for the year. Let’s hope it’s long enough to make him sit, although teams outside the Power 5 don’t seem to protect their pitchers.

Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread
Delay can’t hurt - we were playing so badly it can’t be worse.
Maybe just maybe this is exactly what we need.
Let’s go baby!!!!!
By the way, I am sitting in section E with a buddy, and when they started clearing the field under bright sunshine, everyone around us kinda laughed.

"We’ll have Schreck, Noland and Maldo" thanks, Ndorefin, and would love to have a few more at bats to pull this thing out.

Re: Vandy-Xavier Thread
Agree! There is no storm, but it appears they have had a lightening strike within the limits allowed. I live about 15 miles from the stadium and have had no rain and it didn’t appear to be raining at the field. The longer it’s delayed, is to our advantage, in my opinion.
