BS ALL SEC team
No VU players on 1st Team
Enrique, Maldo and Futrell on 2nd team
That’s an injustice to Enrique. Right now he has the 3rd most stolen bases in SEC history, plus he plays outfield like no other.

Re: BS ALL SEC team
The way we are treated by the imps, uh, umps, the lack of all sec players, and other things we have seen makes you wonder if they are trying to get rid of us.

Re: BS ALL SEC team
Just watched Rally Cap and not one word about Vanderbilt. Lot about Arkansas. Hope we can play with that chip on our shoulder. It is really disgusting. Need to show 'em in Omaha.

Re: BS ALL SEC team
EBJ is a terrific player, and a unique player, but the SEC has some ungodly good outfielders and competition is fierce. If you bump EBJ to first team, who do you drop down: Crews, Petry, or Langford?

Re: BS ALL SEC team
I don’t think that answers the question. Plus, isn’t Petry a freshman?commadore wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 8:50 pmWe will see how it goes in the draft.geeznotagain wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 8:15 pm EBJ is a terrific player, and a unique player, but the SEC has some ungodly good outfielders and competition is fierce. Re: BS ALL SEC team
Right now, it looks like Crews and Langford will be Top 5 picks, and Bradfield will be in the Top 10-15 range. Petry is a freshman, so draft status doesn't apply to him right now. I think Bradfield is a better defensive player than the other 3, but they all have had better offensive seasons than Bradfield, especially their power numbers.commadore wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 8:50 pmWe will see how it goes in the draft.geeznotagain wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 8:15 pm EBJ is a terrific player, and a unique player, but the SEC has some ungodly good outfielders and competition is fierce. Re: BS ALL SEC team
O'Sullivan must be the UnCoach-of-the-Year since he had FIVE 1st Team All-Conference players and merely tied for first in the conference with Arkansas (ONE 1st Team All-Conference player).

Re: BS ALL SEC team
As noted above, the outfield is loaded in the SEC. It's just unfortunate that EBJ didn't have a great batting average this year to complement his other skills. It's kind of like when Dansby Swanson couldn't make first team all-SEC because Alex Bregman also played the position at the same time.
To me, the biggest surprise was Chris Maldonado not making the all-freshman team. He had a rough last few weeks of the season at the plate, and he plays DH, but I was still a little surprised to see Austin's name on the list and not Maldonado's.

Re: BS ALL SEC team
I believe Corbs has done as good of a job as anyone in the SEC. If we had beaten Florida one time, we would be SEC champs! I don’t believe anyone thought that could be a possibility in preseason.

Agreed, though I know little of the other freshmen.AuricGoldfinger wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 3:20 am … I was still a little surprised to see Austin's name on the list and not Maldonado's.
Young Maldo back in the lineup and shows he wants to stay there. And Austin just showed why he’s on the list.
