I disagree. I think having Maldo pitch the 9th was the right move. He’s delivered before and he will again. Didn’t work out. Once they tied it up in the 9th the game was effectively over. Our batters had mailed it in. Just a question of whether we’d lose 4-3 in 12 or 15.

It is not weak pitching to give up 6 hits in 11 innings and very few walks. We lost it with feeble hitting - you are right about offense.

We all know Tennessee is pinning their season on this weekend series and sweeping us. After tonight they have the momentum. We lost a game with our best reliever giving up 3 dingers, one of them golfed out of the park with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the ninth.
So, Maldonado is done. I would presume Chase Burns is done. (You never know with Vitello).
Tennessee knows how to hit what normally would be a long fly ball out of their Little League Park.
I hope our team can adjust and pop a few out too.
We’re not gonna beat them without Bradfield getting on base.
All in all, just a terrible loss. We’ll see if we have what it takes to rebound from this.
Doubt Corbs will sleep well tonight after witnessing the “Meltdown by Maldo”.

Does anyone find it odd that nearly every hit they had was a dinger?

Speaking of chances, the odds of us winning the game just prior to that fateful 1-2 pitch in the 9th were probably about 99%,

When you have Bradfield, Diaz, Bulger, Austin, and Maldonado go 0-25, you aren't going to win many.
