Interesting that wooden bats were used. Now that baseballs are taken out of play for barely grazing the carpet, I wonder why the college game can't afford wooden bats. This would seem to take away the possibility of what seemed to me to be "high tech" cheating with the metal bats and would better prepare players for advancing their baseball careers.

Re: Any reports on the inter-squad game?
Extremely small sample, but the box score shows a few things:
The pitchers and their strikeout total is great, but is that because the batters are swing at bad pitches. NINE Wild Pitches indicates a lot of bad pitches.
Ryan Ginther (7 Ks / 1H / 1BB in 3.0 innings) and Greysen Carter (5Ks / 1 H in 3.0 innings) stood out. Andrew Duk... not so impressive (6H / 1 BB / 2 ER in 1.1 innings). I would like to see the play-by-play to understand how T.J. McKenzie's two-run home run was all that hurt him. Bryce Cunningham must have pitched well at first to get out of a jam.
McKenzie, Espinal, Arias two hits apiece. McKenzie the home run and also a walk.
Three players went 0-fer with 3 strikeouts. Ouch!
R.J. Schreck 0-5 with 2 strikeouts. OUCH!
No errors. Hurrah!
No Enrique Bradfield Jr. ???
