Pacers host Vanderbilt's Scotty Pippen Jr
Here is a link to a video from the Indianapolis Star website:
https://www.indystar.com/videos/sports/ ... 637735001/
The video is over 7 minutes long. It is an interview with Scotty Pippen Jr after a pre-draft workout with the Indiana Pacers. Here are a few comments:
He had worked out with 10 teams at the time of this interview. When asked, he didn't list the specific teams.
He had 4 additional workouts scheduled.
He has talked with his dad throughout the process.
He is a different style player to his dad.
After his second year at Vanderbilt he felt that he could ultimately make it to the NBA.
I wish him the best wherever he ends up.

Not an expert on this by any means, but I believe Scotty's best chance is to NOT be drafted but sign as an undrafted free agent with a team that needs his type of player.
With the 15-player rosters these days, if guys like Matt Ryan can latch onto an NBA team then surely there is a place for Scotty Pippen Jr.

SPjr is getting more favorable mentions as a 2nd round pick the closer the draft gets.

Re: Pacers host Vanderbilt's Scotty Pippen Jr
It looks like he landed in a pretty good situation. He's signed a two-way deal with the Lakers. The Lakers are desperately in need of complementary players to piece around LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and (likely) Russell Westbrook. Scotty will need to work hard to become more efficient as a catch-and-shoot player to stick, as well as develop better defensive skills and cut down on the turnovers. But he'll be able to get minutes doing just that while playing in the G-League in those parts of the season when the Lakers don't need him on the roster. It's a good opportunity for him--similar to the one Saben Lee had with Detroit, but with more opportunities for playing time because of the age and injury histories of the Lakers players. Plus he seems like a Mike Brown kind of player (if he can defend better and pass without turning it over).

Yeah, my bad. I was picturing Darwin Ham (whom I still always picture pulling down the entire basket stanchion against North Carolina) but wrote Mike Brown.

The Lakers only have five players under contract and they are already over the luxury tax cap. The best thing Pippen has going for him is he'll be on a dirt cheap contract.
