Everyone I know has the Rona. Good news - it’s just a little cold…if you’ve been vaccinated and boosted!

Basically the new strand is the flu. When will this country move on? It's been almost 2 years.

Unless you work in health care, in which case, for example, you might have seen more people die in the last two years than the rest of your nearly 30 year career.Vandy187187 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 8:04 pm I swear our media loves to create a panic. If you take out the first wave of covid when they put people in nursing homes you wouldn't even know there was covid. Get your shot and live your life.
I do think the ultimate destination is that covid will be like the flu, with different circulating variants, epidemiologists trying to predict what variants to target with the upcoming year's vaccine, and much lower death rates because very few people will be completely immunologically naive to it. And those of us who work in health care will get boosters every year, just like we have been ever since the first year of medical or nursing school, and of course Youtube videos about Big Pharma conspiracies. In other words it will go from pandemic to endemic.
But we aren't there yet.
And we're nowhere near the point where it would be sane or responsible for people who know they're infected and shedding virus, to go do it in an arena full of thousands of people.
For that matter, we might want to re-think whether someone who knows they have influenza should go out and shed virus all over everyone else, just for the sake of a game?
How many times in the past have we heard some player or other's game is off because they're battling the flu? Maybe, just maybe, if you have an infectious disease that can kill vulnerable people, it would be reasonable to stay home until you're no longer shedding.

Polio, small pox, varicella, for the most part measles, and a lot of strains of HPV disagree.Vandy187187 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 8:04 pm
Nothing can stop a virus, not antibiotics, not a vaccine.

Don't take the bait: Happy New Year.Vandy187187 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 8:04 pm I swear our media loves to create a panic. You think stopping a few basketball games will stop it? Nope. It will run its course.
Biden ran on "stopping the virus" but it's all politics. Nothing can stop a virus, not antibiotics, not a vaccine. I wish everyone would just move on, people actually didn't have Christmas with their families for the second time this year, because of the fear given by our media. Get your shots and you will be fine live your lives

From a legit medical group in Virginia:
(No, holistic does not replace getting vaccinated but there could be some general health benefits)
