Re: Rocker
I read somewhere he was going to be held out of work today due to some muscle tightness or whatever.
No injury was announced. Hickman apparently has a strained lat. Lat strain recovery time will vary based on the extent of the injury. According to Mayo Clinic, minor strains often improve within a week. Other sources said it could take up to three weeks if it is a big one.

Re: Rocker
Rocker threw a bullpen session yesterday to work the soreness out. An abundance of precaution on these guys early in the season is the correct thing to do with much bigger days ahead.

Re: Rocker
Why was Hickman pitching over 100 pitches in 40 degree weather? We were well ahead, too. Did somebody fall asleep counting pitches and ignoring very cold weather. Hope he recovers.

Re: Rocker
Charlestonalum, based on Max Herz's pregame interview with Corbs on Saturday, it sounded like it wasn't a factor of how many pitches he had thrown. Apparently, it was something Hickman was already dealing with and could have tweaked at any time.charlestonalum wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 2:49 pm Why was Hickman pitching over 100 pitches in 40 degree weather? Re: Rocker
thanks for that information, G2BG, but it makes me wonder even more - if he was dealing with something why maximally stress it. Anyway, thanks for the very good feedback. Still hope it gets quickly resolved because we are going to need great pitching to go along with our small ball offense. By the way I know nothing about baseball coaching and only slightly more about orthopedic injuries.Good2BGold wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 5:20 pmCharlestonalum, based on Max Herz's pregame interview with Corbs on Saturday, it sounded like it wasn't a factor of how many pitches he had thrown. Re: Rocker
Rocker and Hickman may sit this weekend out. We need them, but we need them more in May, so I'm all about being overly cautious. These extra opportunities for the freshmen will pay dividends later in the year.
