BA, D1 projected field of 64, May 26
Baseball America still projects VU as the No. 1 overall seed going into today's game and still pairs us with the Chapel Hill regional, while D1 Baseball still has us as the number two overall seed, but now also has us paired with the Chapel Hill regional.

I still feel pretty confident that VU will be the #2 overall seed. I know the metrics between UCLA and Vandy are close enough to justify a #1 overall seed for the Dores, but I think we'll be #2 with UCLA not having lost either a midweek game or a conference series (despite how top heavy the Pac 12 is).

When are the top seeds announced - is everything tomorrow? Seems like in recent years they have announced top 8 or so seeds prior to announcing the rest of the field.

Ok - I just heard on SEC Network that the 16 hosts are announced tonight.

6 SEC teams are regional hosts. Vandy, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. Pretty impressive.

BA projection must have been updated ...
... because it now shows VU paired with 16-seed Ole Miss.
I know that some SEC teams are likely to meet in Super Regionals and I know that they say that the 16 hosts will be seeded and the chips will fall where they may.
But in the wake of Sunday's SEC Tournament Championship, I can't see the Selection Committee setting up the possibility of Vanderbilt and Ole Miss meeting anywhere short of the College World Series.
If the committee is thinking Ole Miss gets in as the 16-seed, that will give it reason to make UCLA the no. 1 overall seed. Then the Rebels can knock off the Bruins and our teams could meet again in the CWS championship game.
