Michigan coach and former VU asst Erik Bakich takes Clemson job

Post by AuricGoldfinger »

Bakich started his coaching career at Clemson as volunteer assistant under Jack Leggett and Corbs before moving with Corbs to VU.

Corbs seems to like scheduling games and fall series with folks he has worked with/admires. ie, series with Ok State (Holliday), games with Michigan (Backich), annual game with Louisville (McDonnell) . . . this could mean that we will see Clemson on the schedule sometime in the upcoming years. Good hire by the Tigers.

Good for Bakich. Not good for the sport of college baseball. The Big Ten remains the one major conference that is just not that interested in baseball. And the same can be said for the Midwest in general. No one even thinks about college baseball around the Midwest.
