Re: LSU. Game 2.
Little didn't pitch well. Bulger on 1 knee can't block the ball. SS should have thrown home. Crews single handily has more runs than our entire team.
We need to show some grit and comeback today and not get curb stomped again. Get something going

Basically, yes. We play like we did at Arkansas as underdogs and we can beat anyone. We walk 10 guys - don’t advance runners, swing at bad pitches… we lose. We have ourselves to blame - and we should know it.geeznotagain wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 7:03 pmWhat would be the reason for the chip? That we crapped in our own nest?

Re: LSU. Game 2.
no walks and 2 hits for LSU pitchers. Little and Maldonado 8 walks and 4 hits. Not a good recipe.
We need to get runners on base and string more runners together with some hits. Forget the HRs put pressure on them with runners on base. We have yet to do that this weekend

I think we have perhaps established that our NCAA rotation should be 1) Holton- 2) McElvain and committee.
Go with dependability.
I will say, Maldo seems to have gotten a bit more aggressive in the 5th. Looking better.

3 1/3 innings, 6 runs, 5 walks and 2 homers! Why didn’t we start Little……he’s only our best pitcher with the best stuff!!!! OOPS….MY BAD….THAT WAS LITTLE!!! Maybe we need to rethink who is our best pitcher with the best stuff!!!Vandy187187 wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 7:27 pm we just don't make solid contact at the plate. jones yes. Re: LSU. Game 2.
What a tough year for mens Vandy fans. The football team is bare bones, no good. The mens basketball team has been snake bit by injuries for years and losing our best player now to not even get drafted in the first round. And the baseball team is clearly taken several steps backwards. It's not easy to be a Vandy fan that's for sure

Re: LSU. Game 2.
I would really like to know what coach says to these guys after this one. It is VERY disappointing to play so well for a month, control your destiny and then just play so listlessly at home in an absolutely key situation.
Do you encourage them? Do you blister them? Do you tell them to put it out of your mind? We are just doing the opposite of what we did in Fayetteville against a really good team.
On the bright side, Maldo seems to have found himself tonight after the tentative start. It is at least something positive. Our first 1-2-3 inning there in the sixth.

Re: LSU. Game 2.
He does have the best "stuff" from a pitching perspective. 96 fastball, sharp breaking ball. Maybe it would help to have a regular start or role? Not 1 start against UGA then no starts, then a surprise start today? The guys a ping pong ball in his role, consistency is best as a pitcher. Coming into tonight 9 walks 34 SO.Ndorefin wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 7:41 pm3 1/3 innings, 6 runs, 5 walks and 2 homers! Why didn’t we start Little……he’s only our best pitcher with the best stuff!!!! Re: LSU. Game 2.
An all round bad performance by hitters and pitchers. We had momentum, home stand against a team just swept and this is what we do... Dom just hits into double play with 2 on and 1 out - frustrating.

Re: LSU. Game 2.
I suspect Corbin will say we blew it and if we want a good season we must play better. He will thing give some suggestions on improvement, but his messsg is disgust.roanoke wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 7:46 pm I would really like to know what coach says to these guys after this one.
