OT: Dodgers pitching rotation looks like...

... that of an NCAA regional or SEC Tournament team playing its fourth or fifth game.

Only Walker Buehler and the trade-deadline-acquired Max Scherzer start games expecting to go long.

Julio Urias, who was laboring and lasting barely 5 innings, is now on the injured list. Clayton Kershaw has not pitched since July 3. And Trevor Bauer has his domestic problems. David Price, the second-highest paid player on the roster (Bauer is #1), has taken the entire season to build up his innings.

Most games are pretty much "STAFF" outings. Don't expect to start and get the win.

This is how the starting pitchers fared during the recent stretch of 12 wins in 13 games:

DATE ... OPP ...... RESULT ... STARTER ... IP ... DECISION
08/07 .. Angels ... W. 5-3 ... Urias ..... 5.0 ... ND
08/08 .. Angels ... W. 8-2 ... Buehler ... 6.0 ... WIN
08/09 .. - OFF -
08/10 .. @ Phil ... W. 5-0 ... Scherzer .. 3.1 ... ND
08/11 .. @ Phil ... W. 8-2 ... Price ..... 4.0 ... ND
08/12 .. @ Phil ... L. 1-2 ... White ..... 4.0 ... LOSS
08/13 .. @ Mets ... L. 6-5 ... Urias ..... 5.0 ... ND
08/14 .. @ Mets ... W. 2-1 ... Buehler ... 7.0 ... ND
08/15 .. @ Mets ... W 14-4 ... Scherzer .. 6.0 ... WIN
08/16 .. Pirates .. W. 2-1 ... Bruihl .... 1.0 ... ND
08/17 .. Pirates .. W. 4-3 ... Price ..... 4.2 ... ND
08/18 .. Pirates .. W. 9-0 ... Bruihl .... 1.2 ... ND
08/19 .. Mets ..... W. 4-1 ... Knebel .... 1.0 ... ND
08/20 .. Mets ..... W. 3-2 ... Buehler ... 7.2 ... WIN

How about that Rookie, Justin Bruihl? He started this past Monday and then again two days later. A modern-day Iron Man McGinnity.

Versus, great Joe "Iron Man" McGinnity reference. Ironically, despite the huge numbers of innings pitched, complete games, pitching both ends of doubleheaders, etc, the "Iron Man" moniker came from his off-season job working in an Oklahoma iron foundry. At least that's what Wikipedia said, so that's Swiss cheese solid ;)
