In the 17 games starting July 31, Dansby has batted .386 (OBP .413) and hit 6 home runs -- a rate of 57 home runs per 162-games.

Not coincidentally, Atlanta is 14-3 in that stretch ... going from 3rd place (4 games behind the Mets) to 1st place by 3 1/2 games over Philly.

mlb.com article about the Braves...

... since the Ronald Acuña Jr. injury.

Obviously, Dansby's surge was included:

Swanson’s improvements, meanwhile, have more to do with the quantity of contact the shortstop is producing.

Before the All-Star break, the 27-year-old whiffed on 30.9% of his swings, well above the 2021 MLB average of 26.1%. Since the break, his whiff rate has dropped to 21.2%, and he’s struck out in 15% of his plate appearances, compared to 28.5% previously.

A clip of his two home run, six RBI game is included.
