Re: GA Tech
Javy Vaz starting in left, batting 2nd, draws a 1-out walk. I'm glad to see Vaz get a chance, looks like a good contact hitter in his few ABs this year
Re: GA Tech
Tech has 6 frosh in their lineup and their pitcher is also a freshman. He just walked Keegan.
Re: GA Tech
Leiter with 2 looking Ks and a routine 4-3 with a 4-pitch walk hiccup in the middle. Second strong inning.

Game is on ESPNews right now but I think they will switch to ESPNU in a while.

Re: GA Tech
All right, I'm about tired of the dang double plays. We need to start getting hits. And our leadoff guys need to quit swinging at the very first pitch. Pitcher is getting his count up and would be much more if both leadoff guys had gone 4 pitches each instead of 2 total.
Re: GA Tech
After a 1-out walk to CJ, Tech turns its 2nd DP in 2 innings, 3-6-3 off Carter's bat. Nicely turned.
Re: GA Tech
You live by the shift, you get burned by the shift. That double looks like a line drive in the boxscore, but it was in reality a would-be routine groundout to 3rd except Gonzo was positioned well off the line. Sigh...
Re: GA Tech
And the crazy thing is he looks good, just the Tech hitters are the kings of foul balls. Great at-bats by Tech hitters.

Re: GA Tech
In a battle of bullpens I don't like our chances. We have some "iffy" pitchers out there.

Re: GA Tech
So far, every single inning we have had one batter make an out on ONE pitch. Not helpful. GT aggressively fouls off 15-16 pitches last inning, Noland just stands there and takes strikes, Gonzo as usual flies out, and even Bradfield pops up. We don't look anything like what we did last night. Come on, men, this guy has a 6.9 ERA. Surely we can score on him.
Re: GA Tech
Terrific plays by Gonzo & Vaz after the leadoff HR. Wonder why Vaz hasn't gotten more playing time this year?
Re: GA Tech
That Vaz catch was a double if anyone else who has played LF for Vandy this year was playng LF on that ball. Great catch!

Re: GA Tech
Thomas looks lost. Think they ought to set his butt on the bench again for a game or two.
BTW, the error was karma for that crappy second strike call on Keegan.
