Lineup changes vs the Black Bears today. LaNeve in LF, Noland at 3b, Jones DHing. Dores gotta produce some excitement and some runs.

EBjr leadoff walk, caught stealing at 2nd, upheld after review. Close, but correct call. He got a poor jump and with a good throw it wouldn't even have been close. Young F-8, Keegan K.

Leiter walks the 1st guy on 4 pitches, none even close to the K zone, but #2 hitter grounds into a first-pitch 4-3 DP and #3 guy swinging K on 3 pitches, the last a beauty of a slider...8 pitch first inning. Scoreless going to the 2nd.

OM pitcher painting corners and ump seems generous around the edges. This really does put pressure on our guys to swing.
I don’t mind the generous edges so long as they are consistent and go both ways.

Thomas is so strong. That HR pitch was moving down and away and he reached out and drove it out to left-center. Looked like a routine fly off the bat. Good thing, 2 Ks and a foul P-2. 1-0 vandy heading to bottom 2.

Pretty neat, Leiter got through the first 2 innings with less than 20 total pitches.

Ump not being as generous to Leiter...
But after 2, 1-0 good guys.
Leiter seemed to find his stuff after hitting first batter in the second...

Leiter hits the leadoff man in the knee; his sliders have been diving short, but he got a short F-9 and 2 Ks after that. Leiter has thrown 19 pitches thru 2.
