Good start for Reilly, today's surprise starter. Swinging K on probable ball 4...we'll take it! And a second high hard fastball = strike 3. And gets #3 on the same pitch again. Wow!

Nice first inning for VU both at the plate and on the mound. 2-0 VU.

Not this time, foul pop to catcher off the fists. Noland's turn. And he gets the run home with a soft ground out to 1B, and the CJ plates Young with a fly to short RF that no one can quite reach. That double looks like a screamer to the fence in the box score. 2-0 Vandy! Wild pickoff throw into CF, but CJ can't advance as he was diving back into the bag. A good throw would probably have gotten him. And it happens exactly the same way again...weird. Jones swinging K, to the 2nd.

Now we know why Corbin kept giving Reilly chances. He can be a very solid pitcher.

Reilly 4th straight swinging K on a high, hard fastball. Amazing! And again, though that strike 3 was in the strike zone. 3rd out on a towering pop to 3rd. Reilly looking the best he's been all season.

He's pitched some very good innings this year...and some not so good ones. He's got a solid future in black & gold.

Reilly walks the #9 hitter, first Bama baserunner, but next guy skies to EBjr in center for the 3rd out in the third.

Free tickets for tomorrow's game

Post by Versus75 »

I don't want to start a new thread about this unless nobody responds:

A season ticket holder won the lottery and was awarded 4 infield tickets to Sunday's game versus Alabama. Now he can't attend and doesn't want the tickets wasted. He asked me to give them away.

I will update this later or delete the message when I get commitments for ALL FOUR or TWO PAIRS OF TWO tickets. You gotta show up or the Ticket Office may not reward him again.

First come, first served: I won't be checking PM regularly. Text me at 502-594-8014

Very nice! If I was in Nashville I'd take you up on it.

Reilly Ks the first guy in the 4th...and the 2nd guy as well, yet again on the high, hard fastball. Another 1-2-3 with a 3rd out fly to RF. Reilly at 59 pitches.

Jones out at the wall in left-center. LF makes a nice catch bouncing off the Regions Bank sign. Just missed an HR. Groundout and K send us to the 5th.

After a couple of routine outs (FP3 & 1-3), Reilly walks the 3rd guy. And finally a hit, a sinking liner to right that Laneve dives for and comes up short, ball bounces past him and the runner on 1st comes around to score. Tough luck...

Pleasant thought of the day: Carter Young and E. Bradfield have 2 more years remaining at VU after this season.

Carter Young launches a huge 2-run HR to the tree line beyond the RF bleachers. BOOM!
