Adversity is a hell of a tough teacher, let's hope they learn. This team is very talented, just flat, almost emotionless the last 2-3 weeks.
Agree and wonder at root cause - maybe schedule but been always have a tough schedule.

This announcer thinks we normally play Louisville twice a year.

We are in the gutter, time to get with it and bounce back.

Tough, tough schedule. We do need for Leiter to re-find his confidence. Corbs is clearly trying to find pitchers to tough out 5 innings... I think he will find several. I am wondering where Fisher is? Maldonado is solid. Reilly, Murphy, McIlvane, Schultz - plenty of guys to rise for the post-season.

We still have Rocker and Leiter.
Everything you say makes sense and in the long run I suspect (and really hope) that you're right, but this team needs a fire lit under it. They just seem uninspired, just plowing thru the grind. Baseball should be fun, but this team just looks grim.

Grim and or uninspired which is what I meant about leadership (not at coach level but members of the team.)

Slight correction: Finals go until the 10th.

All the more reason to be kind of flat right now...

Carter Young's eyes look like the result of finals....Was concerned about Louisville until I just read that finals are not over. Mental fatigue affects baseball more than any other sport IMHO. Also, no finals on May 5th because of Cinco de Mayo? I had to read that twice.

I agree. The fifth of May, 1862 was the day of the Battle of Puebla, which was part of the relatively obscure Franco-Mexican War. Cinco de Mayo is not a national holiday in Mexico (or anywhere else as far as I know).
