Balk. Good lord.

3 mental mistakes in this inning. Give away 2 more runs.

When is the last time we lost three in a row?

Good question, really sleepwalking thru this one.

Good night, Irene.

2-0 fastball right down the middle sent into orbit and we are being spanked. 6-1 UL.

Hope Corbs turns this into a message. The schedule gets better after today.

I'm outta here. Maybe, MAYBE we can beat the Tide. I think they are worse than us. I realize it's what happens later in the year that matters. But aren't we supposed to be getting better? Ain't happening.

I'm watching to the end, but not often in the Corbs era that I felt VU was done in the 5th inning. Need to catch some lightning soon.

Leadoff E-6, see if that can spur something.

Little’s stuff was encouraging today.

Mistakes were kind of mental. Balk. Falling behind and grooving. Pick-off throw into centerfield. Deserved better. But threw three real good innings and had off-speed working with 95 mph fastball. I’d say it would help his confidence - but leaving him in to absorb 6 runs might counteract that idea.

If my memory bank serves me correctly, Corbs has a long history of leaving pitchers in a little too long. The postseason history can't be argued with, but it seems he could channel some inner Sparky Anderson "Captain Hook" more often.

Keegs & Young each gave the ball a ride, but Cards outfielders made a pair of nice catches for long, loud outs. Sigh...

Berkwich with a strong 2-K, 1-2-3 6th inning. Time to wake up the bats.

This game feels like the old HeeHaw bit..."Gloom, despair, agony on me, whoaaaa..."

Beckwich with a second strong 1-2-3 inning. There are bright spots...

Berkwich throws two very sharp innings.

At this point, you take any positive you can.

Something is amiss with team. Chemistry, leadership, youth, press clippings - who knows, but not typical Vanderbilt baseball under Corbin. Hope it is correctable.

Spencer Jones strokes a pinch hit Home Run. 6-2 heading to bottom 8.

Donye Evans to start the 8th. 3rd pitch lasered over LF fence. That ball got out in about 1.3 seconds. Wow!
Owen's in to pitch.

I’ll repeat - I am not that worried about the team. It was Finals Week last week - and we are @ Louisville after @ Florida after MSU after @ Tennessee.

Tough, tough schedule. We do need for Leiter to re-find his confidence. Corbs is clearly trying to find pitchers to tough out 5 innings... I think he will find several. I am wondering where Fisher is? Maldonado is solid. Reilly, Murphy, McIlvane, Schultz - plenty of guys to rise for the post-season.

We still have Rocker and Leiter.

Adversity is a hell of a tough teacher, let's hope they learn. This team is very talented, just flat, almost emotionless the last 2-3 weeks.
