I sat in the photo booth in 2019 at Hawkins about 5 feet from O'Sullivan. He's got the filthiest mouth I've ever heard from someone with no military experience.

Still, it appears at this time we have exactly ONE starting pitcher that can get a win. Leiter is tired or injured. NO ONE on Sunday has been worth a dump and our relievers (except Moldonado) are marginal at best. We seriously may not make it to Omaha if this keeps up.

EB continues to amaze me with the things he does well. Also his instincts. He is a bright spot in an otherwise not-so-bright day. The middle of our lineup is in a collective slump, starting with Young.

Couple of things...

We aren’t playing great. It is finals week and we are at the end of a murderous stretch of schedule.

I would not give up on McIlvane as a starter. But as a reliever he attacks. As a starter, he is trying to paint corners and falling behind almost everyone. My guess is they’ll talk to him and he’ll improve (get back to normal).

We don’t look like ourselves. I’m afraid we’ve just played one too many road/top 20 series in a row. Hard to imagine being flat against Florida - but we are.

Bring in Murphy.

Remember the scene in Bull Durham where the pitcher hit the bull? If Murphy could plunk O'Sullivan in the dugout with a 95 MPH fastball it would almost be worth the loss.
